“Sweden’s master chef”, which is based on the British “Masterchef”, has been broadcast on TV4 since 2011. At that time, the jury consisted of Per Morberg, Leif Mannerström and Markus Aujalay.
Since then, the jury has been completely replaced and today, when the fourteenth season of the show rolls on television, it is Mischa Billing, Tom Sjöstedt and Tommy Myllymäki who judges the amateur chefs’ food.

Josefine Freij and Tess Medina to the final in Sweden’s Master Chef 2024
From the beginning, there were 12 chefs who managed to get to the famous master chef kitchen. On Wednesday, when the semi-finals of Sweden’s Master Chef 2024 were decided, only two participants remained in the competition – ready to settle for victory in next week’s final.

The lucky finalists are Josephine Freij and Tess Medina.
– This is the most insane thing I’ve been a part of, says Josefine in the TV4 program in connection with the fact that it is clear that she is moving on.
– It means so much to me to be in the final. I can’t even believe it! I need to digest this, I’m kind of in shock, says Tess when she learns that she is the other finalist.

In other words, it will be Hedvig Henrekson who may leave the competition and settle for third place in the competition.
– I’m disappointed, but I still feel that both Tess and Josefine deserve to be in the final, says Hedvig in the program.

Sweden’s master chef viewers: “Stop watching”
But viewers don’t quite agree. When TV4, on their official Facebook pageshares who has progressed to the finals in Sweden’s Master Chef 2024, it is not just congratulations and well wishes that rattle into the comment field.
Many are also critical of the jury and believe that they engage in favoritism and that they had an idea, already early in the season, who would be in the final. This is how some viewers write:
“I don’t care to stop watching as I think the jury has already chosen their favourites.”
“Seems like Josefine is Mischa’s favorite. She didn’t get any complaints about her simple dish, even though there were only two things on the plate, but Tess got a lot of complaints. It was simple and a lot was missing.”
“You knew from program 1 who was going to the final. Sweden’s master chef has been my favorite program for many years, but the fact that the jury and especially Mischa have such clear favorites means that the program has become a joke.”
“Today’s competition wouldn’t have been necessary as you knew beforehand exactly how it would go. They don’t exactly have a poker face, the judges.”
“Josefin wins. She has been a favorite from the very beginning regardless. I think a certain judge is also fond of her.”
“So predictable throughout the show.”
“Tess is my favorite, I hope she wins… But I think the judges have already made up their minds a long time ago about Josefine, unfortunately. Both are good cooks, of course, but my opinion is that the judges saw through Josefine’s ‘misses’.”
“Not a bit surprised, it was already clear before the competition tonight. Another program that you can stop watching.”
“Not so fun knew exactly how it was going to go, rigged in advance.”
“A favorite program that has become shit, it has been clear for a long time who is the favorite and who can come up with any dish and still get a lot of praise. Hedvig would have been in the final with Tess.”

So far, TV4 has not responded to any of the comments. It is clear, however, that Sweden’s master chef 2024 continues to run like a train in terms of viewership. During the last week, the program had a whopping 765,000 viewers, which meant that it landed in fourth place on the TV top.
