Sweden’s largest newspaper Dagens Nyheter raised by the president by Alexander Stubb featured the visit in his editorial.

According to the newspaper, Sweden could learn a lot from Stubb’s “optimistic realism” of Russia and the president Vladimir Putin regarding. The newspaper writes that instead of talking about the danger of war, Stubb wants to make sure that we are ready for it if necessary. Dagens Nyheter sees this as a sensible and pragmatic approach.

According to Dagens Nyheter, Finland is now in a “loud cry” in Sweden. Sweden follows closely and, according to the newspaper, somewhat jealously, what Finland is doing in its defense, education and foreign policy.

Dagens Nyheter writes in its editorial that the Swedish Prime Minister by Ulf Kristersson the government should learn from Finland. The newspaper refers to Sweden’s reaction to Russia’s false claim that Gotland would become a NATO base.

Foreign minister Tobias Billström responded to the hypothetical claim that this will not happen. According to Dagens Nyheter, Billström should rather have answered that Sweden makes the best decisions for itself and NATO.

According to the newspaper, Billström should learn from Stubb’s statements regarding the possible placement of NATO soldiers and weapons stockpiles in Finland.

According to Dagens Nyheter, the relationship between Finland and Sweden is also deepening due to the fact that President Stubb is Finnish-Swedish.

Dagens Industri: The alliance between Finland and Sweden is a Nordic superpower

Economic magazine Dagens Industri also praised Finland in his editorial.

– The relations between Finland and Sweden have always been close, but now they are closer than ever since our country was divided in 1809, the newspaper writes.

Sweden’s fifth largest newspaper, Dagens Industri, reminds Swedes that Finland and Sweden were one and the same country for more than 600 years, and that the Swedish language is still part of Finland.

According to the newspaper, EU membership and the Cold War brought the countries closer together, but Russia’s brutality has increased security even more. This was most evident when Sweden and Finland applied for NATO membership at the same time two years ago, writes Dagens Industri.

The magazine highlights lively cultural cooperation as well as cooperation in the field of politics and sports. It also reminds us that Sweden gave home to hundreds of thousands of Finns during the war.

According to Talouslehti, the economic structures of Finland and Sweden and their history are very similar. The magazine even suggests that now that the Nordic countries are all members of NATO, they deserve a common place in the G20 community of leading industrialized countries.

Dagens Industri also hopes that Finland will show Sweden the way to eurozone membership, which, according to the newspaper, would benefit both countries.

Dagens Industri also reminded its readers that Stubb previously worked as a columnist for the newspaper.
