Sweden’s lead-heavy victory tonight – the Olympic dream lives on after the team captain’s decisive goal

Sweden defeats Switzerland in the Nations League with 1–0. At home in Gothenburg, Magdalena Eriksson became a great match hero when she scored the match’s only goal in the first half.

With the victory, Sweden is second in the group on six points. Spain, who earlier in the evening defeated Italy 1-0, top the group on a maximum of nine points after three matches. The group winner goes on to the Nations League semi-finals and thus has a continued chance for Olympic games next summer in Paris.

Next, Italy awaits in Malmö for Blågult. The match will be played on Tuesday.
