Sweden’s best synthesizer appointed

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The honorary award for synth player of the year went this year to Växjöborne Christoffer Gunnarsson, who for over a decade ran the festival “Kalabalik på Tyrolen” in Blädinge, where both national and international artists who renew synth music are invited.

This year’s debut was Nervous Damage, and Emmon from Gothenburg took home the prize for this year’s release with his record “Recon”. In the justification, the jury wrote: “Among well-trodden electronic paths, new ways of delivering hard beats, soft filter sweeps, fat basses and fragile melodies are found here.”
