The Swiss team, led by skipper Yannick Schwaller, took an early 2-0 lead and then the Swedes never caught up.
After five rounds, Sweden was still only 3-2 behind, but then Switzerland won three straight rounds and moved to 6-2.
– It’s hard to pull away, so we just tried to stay focused. Luckily we succeeded, says Schwaller.
Turkey awaits in the final match
The match ended 6-3 to the Swiss.
Sweden now has five wins and three losses in the group stage where everyone meets everyone. In the last match, they face Turkey. There, a victory is needed for Sweden to be able to reach the semi-finals.
Team Edin currently shares fourth place with Norway, who will face Switzerland tomorrow.
Italy and Scotland are already through to the semi-finals.
