The Swedish-led NATO headquarters in Finland is expected to become part of NATO’s Framework nation arrangement and similar headquarters and bases are found in several other of NATO’s frontline states against Russia.
The arrangement means that one nation, in this case Sweden, stands for the military staff that leads units that several NATO countries participate in and contribute to.
SvD has earlier today reported similar information and describes it as “Sweden may lead the combined force over time and, among other things, hold the leadership position and man the majority of the staff.”
At 2:30 p.m. today, a press meeting will be held with Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) and Finland’s Prime Minister Petteri Orpo.
