When major nations such as Germany and the USA have gone out, Sweden, together with England, are favorites to win the coveted World Cup gold.
– Sweden are second favourites, just after England. But based on our model, Sweden is actually the best team left in the championship, says Simon Gleavehead of analysis at the statistics company Nielsen’s Gracenote, to SportExpressen.
– However, England theoretically have the easiest quarter-final in front of them against Colombia and they are therefore favorites to win at the moment.

Sweden is so far undefeated in the World Cup and has only conceded a single goal in four games. When Blågult is now singled out as favourites, it will make many Swedish supporters start to dream – but the players will not let themselves be carried away.
