Sweden has deported Mahmut Tat to Turkey after his asylum application was rejected, AFP wrote with reference to Turkish media.
Mahmut, who came to Sweden in 2015, had applied for a residence permit after being sentenced to six years and ten months in prison by a Turkish court for colluding with the terrorist-labeled Kurdish organization PKK.
According to the state-run news agency Anatolia, he was arrested by Swedish police and then put on a plane to Istanbul, where he landed on Friday.
Shortly after arriving in Turkey, he was arrested, reports the privately owned Turkish television channel NTV.
The friend Baris Onay tells TV4 Nyheterna that his friend will now end up in prison.
– Everything happened so quickly, he says.
