In the midst of the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, trade in Russian gas continues in Sweden.
It is the Finnish state energy company Gasum that has been importing natural gas from Russia since the 1970s, something they continued with despite the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
One of the Swedish companies that Gasum supplies to is the oil company Nynas AB, which earlier this year said it would stop purchasing Russian raw materials.
– In this case, we have a long-term contract with Russia, but we have minimized them, says Olga Väisänen, who is responsible for communications at Gasum.
TV4-Nyheterna has contacted the Swedish oil company, which declines an interview but says in a written comment that they are completely dependent on the subcontractor Gasum.
