On February 18, the hit Hotell Romantik 2024 premiered, and this year too the program has become a hit with viewers.
Every Sunday, viewers get to follow a group of love-hungry senior singles who have moved into a castle-like house in beautiful Portugal. During ten days, the participants then get to date each other while doing various activities, such as yoga and surfing.

If you get a little extra attached to someone, you can take the so-called “love boat” to a secluded beach house.
When the week is over, the participants are faced with a choice. Either stay at the hotel and bet on love, or go home to Sweden.
SVT’s rules regarding alcohol and smoking
During the filming of Hotel Romance, it happens every now and then that the participants take a liking to each other. But what are the rules around sex and alcohol?

– Before the recordings started, all participants were given information about and read through and signed special rules of procedure which included consent, not to be “significantly affected by alcohol” and how they should treat each other. In the event of any violation of the rules, it was connected with the end of the recording and the journey home.
Many viewers have believed that the participants can drink basically whatever they want during the journey and that the production is responsible for it. But that is not the case.
– Concerning alcohol, the participants received a glass of wine with dinner and on occasional occasions champagne was served. There were always non-alcoholic options on site. If they then wanted more alcohol, there was a bar, where the participants could buy what they wanted with money from their own wallets, but always with regard to the rules that existed.
In programs like Paradise Hotel, smoking is prohibited. What does it look like here?
– We have no specific rules regarding smoking, Molly concludes.
