The proposal that was presented on Friday is divided into three phases.
The first phase lasts for six weeks and involves a complete ceasefire. Already here, a number of hostages are to be exchanged for Palestinian prisoners.

During phase one, negotiations must also be held where the parties agree on the “necessary arrangements needed” to reach the next phase.
In the second phase, all hostages who are still alive must be released and in the third phase, the remains of dead hostages must also be handed over.
Division in Israel
There is a deep division around the proposal in Israel, says Stina Blomgren.
– The relatives of the hostages said today that time is running out. That Israel has an obligation to accept this proposal while the hostages are still alive.
At the same time, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is threatened by his own ministers who say they will overthrow the government if the war ends.
