SVT’s entrance exposed to several color attacks – the security manager: very seriously

The first color attack against the main entrance to the SVT house at Gärdet in Stockholm occurred at the end of September last year. Subsequently, three more attacks occurred, in October, December and now in early February.

– It is roughly similar to Modus Operandi, because what has happened is damage, especially that you have sprayed color, says SVT’s security manager Camilla Josephsson.

– On some occasions, they have also used fertilizer, or some type of smelly material anyway.

“A pro-Palestinian initiative”

Several of the attacks have been carried out by Pro-Palestinian activists, critical of SVT’s reporting on the Gaza War.

-There is a group that has taken on this, which is a pro-Palestinian initiative. So it is linked to that war, says Josephsson, who, however, does not want to comment on any specific group.

Based on SVT’s information, a pro-Palestinian group has taken on at least three of the attacks on social media.

“SVT has chosen sides in this genocide, and we intend to make sure they have to pay the price for it,” the group writes on Instagram, among other things.

The police have launched a preliminary investigation after Monday’s event, and obtained material from social media to show how it all went. The other criminal investigations have been closed.

Attacks against Eurovision

Two more attacks were directed against Eurovision last spring, in Gothenburg and in Malmö. Even then with blood red color and pro-Palestinian messages.

Camilla Josephsson notes that it is obviously allowed to demonstrate against the news coverage, but says that it is something completely different when it goes into violence against the business.

– It has a special purpose to influence our reporting, she says.

-We are a public service company, we are also a protection object and we have a very important assignment in the total defense, so of course this is very serious.

Several pro-Palestinian demonstrations have previously been kept outside the SVT house. Whether there are any connections between them and the attacks is unclear.
