Staffan Lindeborg has stopped reporting sports.
But now the profile is making a comeback as a radio speaker.
– It feels absolutely right, says product manager Daillou Axelsson.
Staffan Lindeborg is one of our biggest sports media profiles. He is incredibly popular with the Swedish people and has become hugely popular. Lindeborg refereed his first sporting event back in 1979 and was then a recurring feature when the biggest matches or championships were played.
Now make a radio comeback
In 2019, he announced his retirement as a sports commentator. He spent a total of 50 years at Sveriges Radio and SVT, leaving big shoes to fill at the channels.
But now Staffan Lindeborg is back in radio. The radio channel “Rockklassiker” launches in collaboration with Stryktipset the program “90 minutes + additional time” which will talk about England’s biggest football cities.
– Many of our listeners love football and for them Saturdays are synonymous with English football. The ambition of our program is for the listeners to get in the mood for the afternoon’s matches, says Daillou Axelsson in a statement and continues:
“Feels just right”
– Music has always had a big place in English football culture, so it feels right for Rockklassiker with a program that connects football and music.
Staffan Lindeborg will be assistant sitter together with Emelie Ölander and under the direction of Jonas Nilsson.
