SVT learns: Investigators propose fines for parents who do not follow the social welfare board’s decision

As part of the government’s work to combat youth crime, an investigation into early interventions for children and young people will be presented on Wednesday. According to information to SVT, one of the investigator’s conclusions will be that parents who do not ensure that their children follow the social welfare board’s decision on outpatient interventions must pay a fine. How much money this may involve is unclear, but according to the investigation, it should be adapted to the parents’ financial situation.

At the press conference, which will take place at nine in the morning, the Minister of Social Services will receive more proposals from the so-called “Mellantvångsutredningen”. This inquiry’s directive has also included reviewing the possibility of foot shackles for children as well as serious conversations with parents of children who the social welfare board has learned are suspected of crimes.

In October, another investigation suggested foot shackles for young people in Sis homes. In the video below, you can hear the Minister of Social Services about this.
