SVT expert Daniel Nannskog refuses to go to the Vasaloppet

He has been a reporter at the Vasaloppet for the past five years.
But SVT’s football expert Daniel Nannskog himself refuses to go – unless he gets a lot of money from the channel.

– It looks very painful and not so nice. I prefer to avoid, he says to SVT Sport.

The talk started back in March, when Daniel Nannskog50, spoke to the SVT presenter Yvette Hermundstad53, via link in the channel’s broadcast around the Vasaloppet. He had then made his fifth consecutive year as a reporter at the competition. Isn’t it time that he rides the Vasaloppet himself now, as a riding reporter instead?

Haven’t seen the smoke of the money

Every year, the channel usually has its own, famous person that the viewers get to follow along in the track. In previous years, the comedian has, among other things Måns Mollerthe artist Klara Hammarström and the TV profiles Clara Henry and Brita Zackari acted as traveling reporters.

Now it is clear that SVT wants Daniel Nannskog, an everyday football expert, out on the snow-covered expanses. He himself is very skeptical about participating. He has performed that several times. To even consider running, he demands a staggering amount of money from the channel.

– I have said during the Vasaloppet broadcasts that I should have more than one million kroner to go. And I haven’t seen the smoke of that money. So I won’t go. Forget it, he says to SVT Sport.

– I can start collecting money then and we will see this year’s breakthrough, says SVT’s ski expert Anders Blomquist.

I think it looks painful

Daniel Nannskog still doesn’t think it’s a good idea. He politely but firmly declines Blomquist’s proposal. At the moment there is nothing that can make him change his mind. He will not ride the Vasaloppet.

– Yes, you. No. I don’t think there is any money. If you see these fools, I was about to say, go and see those blank stares and everything, and the misery when you go all these miles… I don’t want to go, he says and continues:

– It looks very painful and not so nice. I prefer to avoid. I’m happy to stand and mock and cheer on. But not going, no.

– Yes, hope. There was no breakthrough then, says a somewhat disappointed Anders Blomquist.

There are many of us who find it fun and entertaining to see Daniel Nannskog as a reporter on the page when the Vasaloppet is broadcast on SVT. If he really doesn’t want to go by himself, he shouldn’t. He does a very good job though.

Well done, Daniel! Stand your ground!
