In August last year, SVT announced that it would change the format during the broadcast on Christmas Eve 2023 and introduce the new program “Christmas with Astrid Lindgren”.
Now the channel comes with more information about the full hour that awaits the Swedes in the Christmas TV schedule.
Olof Wretling: “The recording was a lot of fun”
In a press release, SVT states that the program will focus on Astrid Lindgren’s short story “Lustig-Gök” from 1949, where the cuckoo in question will act as a guide in the program “Christmas with Astrid Lindgren”.
The comedian Olof Wretling is the one who makes the voice of the cuckoo.
– I have always dreamed of being in an Astrid Lindgren film. The recording was very funny and I hope that all children and adults will think that I am a very believable cuckoo, he says in a press release.
The hour-long program will also feature newly produced animations of “Emil and the Snowball War”, “Kajsa Kavat”, “Nils Karlsson Pyssling” and “The Fox and Santa”.
SVT about Christmas with Astrid Lindgren: “Feels nice”
In addition to the new productions, during “Christmas with Astrid Lindgren”, clips from “Vi på Saltkråkan – sure there are elves” and “Pippi’s Christmas” will also be shown.
– It feels good that we can offer the audience a new atmospheric Christmas story to gather around during Christmas, states Safa Safiyariclient at SVT, in the press release.
