But still, Olle Palmlöf became one of the big talkers at the Sports Gala.
Now SVT is forced to apologize to the television viewers for his actions.
On Monday evening passed Sports gala 2025 of the pile and Sweden’s best athletes were awarded at the Strawberry arena. Armand Duplantis took home a total of three prizes, Truls Möregårdh won the Jerring Prize and a tearful one Gunde Swan was presented with the Swedish Sports Academy’s honorary award for his fantastic career.
Palmlöf’s actions
The presenter for this year’s gala, which was broadcast on SVT, was Carolina Klüft and Måns Zelmerlöw. Directly after the gala, the television profiles then took over Maria Wallberg and Olle Palmlöf over with the program “Eftersnack” which was shown on SVT Play.

Many TV viewers have since reacted strongly to Palmlöf’s actions in the live broadcast and call it a scandal. He allegedly appeared clearly drunk, according to many viewers, and slurred during the telecast, see the video below.
SVT apologizes
Olle Palmlöf has also called Armand Duplantis “Mando” instead of “Mondo” and believed that the legendary Jorgen Persson still playing table tennis in 2020. Many TV viewers think that the telecast should have been stopped immediately instead of allowing the refreshed TV profile to continue interviewing uncomfortable athletes.

A lot of Swedes have contacted SVT and now the TV channel is forced to apologize to its viewers.
“It is not SVT Sport that produces the Sports Gala, which means that we are not involved in the broadcast, except that we lend our excellent presenter Maria Wallberg. But with that said, SVT has zero tolerance for alcohol in the service. And I know that those concerned from SVT take the incident seriously and are in talks with the parties involved,” writes Johanna Bäckström Lernebynews manager and responsible publisher at SVT Sport, to a TV viewer who contacted Sportbibeln.
“SVT’s trust with our audience is of the utmost importance, and we therefore want to regret what happened. We would also like to extend a special apology to the people who were interviewed in connection with this. The sporting event is a purchased viewing right and formally speaking, it is the production company that is responsible on site, but SVT has the publisher responsibility. And as I said, talks are being held with the parties concerned. Apologies again”.
The sports event is produced by the production company Leroy Media, which has not yet commented on the behavior on Monday evening. A video on Instagram from the broadcast has gone viral via the account “Dyngbaggegalan”, see the clip below.
