Sven-Göran Eriksson passed away this week after a long battle with cancer. In January, he received the news that he had incurable cancer and that he had at best a year to live.

Svenni’s death has been met with tributes from both well-known people and several well-known big clubs. Among others, SL Benfica, Liverpool FC, Manchester City FC, the Swedish national football team and the English national football team have taken to social media to draw attention to Svenni’s greatness.

Svenni’s ex Nancy Dell’Olio opens up after the death notice
Eriksson met the lawyer and the media personality Nancy Dell’Olio 1998 when he was coach of Lazio in Rome. Their stormy and rewritten relationship lasted until 2007.
“Although our relationship had its ups and downs, I choose to remember the good times together and all the moments that brought joy to our lives,” she writes in a post on Instagram with several old photos of the couple.
“I will always hold on to those fond memories and I want to extend my deepest condolences to his family. When you love someone, that love never truly fades. Rest in peace, Sven. You will be missed.”
