Sven-Göran Eriksson reveals David Beckham’s heartwarming gift during the visit to Värmland: “He is no diva”

The former English national team captain Sven-Göran “Svennis” Eriksson now reveals what happened when his former team captain David Beckham came to visit Värmland at the beginning of June.

– He brought six liters of wine with dates that were important to me, says Eriksson to P4 Värmland.

Among other things, it concerns wine from 1948 – the year then Sven-Göran Eriksson was born, as in 1982, when he won the Uefa Cup with IFK Gothenburg, and in 2000, when he won the Italian league with Lazio. Much of the conversation revolved around football.
– (It was very nice. He is genuine. He could be a diva. But he is the opposite.

David Beckham flew to the airport in Karlstad to visit cancer patient Eriksson for a day.
– He ate herring and potatoes and moose meat, the day before he sent a cook who prepared the food, says Eriksson to the radio with a laugh.

“Svennis” has been on a big farewell tour around the football world since he told about his severe cancer. At his home ground in Torsby, he has had a square named after him, where a bronze statue of the football profile will also be placed.
