Sustainability Generali first hackathon that responds to four major challenges

(Finance) – Accelerate the integration of ESG factors into processes, business and corporate culture by generating engagement, empowerment and proactivity of people in the sustainability path undertaken by Generali towards customers, employees, communities and all stakeholders. With this objective it began on October 9th Ca’ Corniani – Land of the Avant-garde The first Generali Sustainability Hackathon, that involved 130 participants between employees and Agents, the entire Management of Generali Country Italia, and facilitators, internal advisors and authoritative experts who supported the working groups.

Sixteen groups for four challenges on a path of change – The 130 participants including employees of Generali Italia, Alleanza Assicurazioni, Cattolica, DAS, Genertel / Genertellife, Generali jeniot, Generali Welion and Leone Alato, in addition to the Agents of Generali Italia and Alleanza, were divided into 16 groups to challenge each other in a non- 24-hour stop, aimed at developing innovative project ideas and thus proactively contributing to the integration of ESG criteria into processes, business and corporate culture. I am The participants in the Sustainability Hackathon challenged themselves in 4 areas: climate change, decarbonisation and energy transition; social inclusion and the Third Sector; aging and new generations; sustainable mindset and engagement. The 16 teams will illustrate their works in front of their evaluation jury in four parallel semi-finals.

A sustainable event “by design” – The event, which is part of a long-term strategy to encourage the integration of ESG criteria into the Group’s business model, was created according to the principles of sustainability and to contain its carbon footprint as much as possible. From the displays to the gadgets, from the means by which the participants reached Ca’ Corniani to the catering: everything was designed to reduce the environmental impact, enhance experiences of inclusion and give a second life to things in the spirit of the circular economy. For this reason, participants and management have signed the “Charter of Commitments”.
