The police have decided on temporary camera surveillance of an area in southern Gnosjö. It is about the area around Gårö and Bäckaskog. The decision enables the police to monitor the area with drones.
The reason is the five forest fires that have occurred in the last two weeks in the area. One reason why the police suspect that they are planted is that there were no forest fires in the area at all last year, despite similar weather conditions.
Complement in the hunt for a perpetrator
“Further fires risk having major consequences and drones are a good complement to other measures we implement in Gnosjö”, writes Johan Borg, the Värnamo police, on the police account on Instagram.
The police also ask people moving in the area to be extra vigilant if they see someone with deviant behaviour.
