The Ronneby mother in her 20s was arrested, arrested and detained at the end of September, when several videos showing how she abused her three-year-old daughter were spread online.
The films provoked strong reactions and one of them clearly showed how the mother stomped her daughter in the face.
The girl has since been taken into care and the mother, as admitted, is charged with aggravated assault, assault and molestation.
The trial is scheduled for February 23 next year and before then the prosecutor wants to have the woman’s mental status investigated.
A so-called section 7 investigation shows that she is suspected of suffering from a serious mental disorder, both at the time of the crime and continuing now.
An extended investigation is now to be carried out and its results may be decisive for whether the woman can be sentenced to prison next year or receive care.
