Suspended V politician calls for parachutes to be stopped

Marcus Wallin was hanged in the secret chat of the municipal leaders – demands that the municipal board act

Daniel Filipsson (M), chairman of the municipal board in Alingsås and deputy chairman of the municipal board Simon Waern (S) have had a secret group chat with a former V-top. Which Gothenburg Post revealed earlier this week.

In a group chat, called the “Gin gang”, they have expressed mockery and sexism against party opponents but also colleagues.

During Friday, it was announced that they are both leaving their respective parties. However, they will not be without luck.

Daniel Filipsson can have 24 monthly fees paid out, which means a total of almost SEK 1.8 million. And Simon Waern keeps 85 percent of his monthly fee for 18 months, which in total amounts to just over one million kroner.

Wallin: “Will not get a crown”

Now suspended left-wing politician Marcus Wallin demands that the municipal board act to stop the payment of parachute contracts for the two politicians.

– It moves up to three million for two politicians who seriously damaged the municipality’s reputation and went behind the backs of the Alingsås, it is completely unreasonable. It is everyone’s responsibility in politics to do what we can to stop this, says Marcus Wallin.

Wallin says that they were reached by the news about the parachute agreements via Alingsås newspaper.

– As soon as the news reached our phones, our board and group leaders called a quick digital meeting. Because this is something we have already discussed, that we have to raise the issue that these two municipal councilors should not receive a penny in parachute contracts.

– We have to protect taxpayers’ funds, and these two municipal councilors are also highly responsible for the budget cuts that hit our welfare very hard. We had already planned to stop this.
