The 60-year-old man who is suspected of having shot a 30-year-old woman in the stomach on a tram is being held on probable cause on suspicion of aggravated weapons offense and aggravated assault, several media write. The man denies any wrongdoing.
It was around 9 o’clock on Tuesday morning in the Majorna district in Gothenburg that the incident occurred. The woman was hit by a shot in the abdomen and was then taken to hospital with serious injuries.
According to the police, there are no connections between the perpetrator and the victim. According to the prosecutor, most things indicate that it was an accident that the weapon was fired.
