Suspected terrorist’s parents: Wanted to carry out Jihad

The designated Brussels terrorist Abdesalem Lassoued talked to his parents about the Koran burnings in Sweden and about carrying out jihad, holy war.
It is revealed in an interview with Lassoued’s mother and father on Tunisian television.
– When the Koran burnings took place, he screamed and became very upset, says the father.

Now comes new information about Abdesalem Lassoued, who has been identified by the Belgian authorities as the perpetrator of the terrorist attack in Brussels where two Swedes were killed and one was seriously injured.

The Tunisian channel Hannibal TV has spoken to Lassoued’s parents, who talk about how their son reacted to the Koran burnings in Sweden.

– When the Koran burnings took place, he screamed and became very upset. Like when someone loses their temper, says the father in the interview.

Heard about the son’s deed through the neighbors

TV4 was previously able to tell that the attack must have been aimed directly at Swedes, and that at least one of the victims was wearing a Swedish national team shirt.

Abdesalem Lassoued is said to have sympathized with IS and wanted “revenge for Muslims”.

The parents heard about the crime through their neighbors.

– Someone came to me and said that Abdesalem shot people and murdered. I said: never in my life! Would he kill?, says his mother to Hannibal TV.

Should have talked about Jihad

Among other things, he is said to have also spoken to his parents about jihad, i.e. holy war.

– Previously, my son has said “don’t you want to see me become a martyr? You will also be rewarded by God,” his father told the channel.

– He laughed and said: “I was just joking, dad, but actually jihad is good”, he continues.

Killed by police

Abdesalem Lassoued was shot dead by police in a cafe in Brussels the day after the terrorist attack.

He is said to have previously stayed in Sweden for several years, something that TV4 Nyheterna has reported on. The time was marked by prison terms and drug addiction until he was deported to Italy in 2014 and later came to Brussels.
