Two Swedish citizens were detained on Thursday after the explosion at the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen. They are now suspected of terrorist offences, the Copenhagen police state on X.
The explosion took place during the night of Wednesday. During Tuesday evening, a suspicious shooting occurred near the Israeli embassy in Stockholm. No one was injured and the incident is being investigated as a serious armed crime.
Tightens border controls
Säpo’s chief operating officer Fredrik Hallström stated on Thursday that an “objective hypothesis” is that Iran may have been involved in the attacks.
– Because it is similar to what happened on previous occasions, that is, target selection and modus operandi, he told TT.
Due to the events of the last few days in Stockholm and Copenhagen, the Danish police announced on Saturday that they are tightening border controls.
