An explosion has occurred at the headquarters of the Turkish TUSAŞ industrial company in Kahramankazan, near Ankara. Shooting has also been heard in the area.
Mayor of Kahramankazan Selim Cirpanoglu says on Turkish television that three people have been killed and five injured in the attack.
TUSAŞ is one of Turkey’s most important arms industry companies. It manufactures, among other things, KAAN fighter planes and fighter planes, and assembles F-16 fighters.
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerkalia calls the incident a terrorist attack. Rescue personnel have been called to the scene.
The TV channel Haber Turk says that it would be an attack by a suicide bomber. The Turkish authorities have not confirmed the matter. In addition, according to media reports, the headquarters would have been attacked by several armed persons.
