Shortly before eight o’clock on Monday evening, the police were called to the Norrköping district of Hageby after reports of loud explosions.
The shooting happened inside the Mirum mall in Hageby. Parts of the mall were cordoned off and were still cordoned off at half past ten in the evening.
A person with a gunshot wound was found on the spot, and during the evening there was an extensive police operation with witness interviews and trace protection in the area. They have also tracked with dogs and flown with drones.
The person with the gunshot wound was taken to hospital by ambulance, and should not have any life-threatening injuries. According to information given to TV4 Nyheterna, the person shot should be a leading figure in a criminal network in Norrköping.
A preliminary investigation into attempted murder and aggravated weapons offense has been launched, and no suspect has yet been arrested.
