Germany’s federal prosecutor’s office is investigating suspected sabotage against a gas pipeline being built in northern Germany, reports the public service company NDR.
Several small holes have been discovered in at least three places along the 55-kilometer-long liquefied natural gas pipeline, which runs from an LNG terminal in the port city of Brunsbüttel northwest of Hamburg.
The pipeline was supposed to be ready before the turn of the year, but has been delayed due to the vandalism and is expected to open in February.
