The police were alerted during the night that a woman had been raped in central Enköping.
– We are investigating a serious crime and have cordoned off an area pending a technical investigation, says Maria Hall, police spokesperson.
The rape alarm was received at midnight by the police about a woman who had been victimized. Police dogs searched for tracks at the scene and efforts continued on Sunday morning.
– We received an alarm that it must have happened outside, says Daniel Winge, external commander at the Mitt police.
Preliminary investigation initiated
Initially, the police described it as a “serious violent crime” and an area in central Enköping was cordoned off. On Sunday evening, the police said that a preliminary investigation into rape has been started.
