A man employed in child care in Kristianstad municipality who was previously arrested on suspicion of rape of children and child pornography crimes has been released. According to the prosecutor, the suspicions have weakened, reports SVT Nyheter Skåne.
The man is suspected of having abused one of the municipality’s preschools.
– The man is still a suspect but I mean that the suspicions of serious sexual abuse and rape of children have weakened. These are no longer probable reasons, says prosecutor Helena Fredriksson to SVT.
The suspected crime must have been committed in April 2022 and the child pornography crimes during both 2021 and 2022. Later in the investigation, suspicions of serious sexual abuse were also added. He has pleaded guilty to child pornography.
