Suspected of murdering 17-year-old – detention begins

She disappeared without a trace from Korsør in Zealand in the early morning of July 10, 2016 after being out partying with her friends. Despite an extensive search, her remains were only found on Christmas Eve that year, dumped in a lake.

The man has partially admitted crimes against the 13-year-old girl, who disappeared on April 15 when she was out handing out newspapers in Kirkerup on Zealand. The following day, she was found captured at the home of the 32-year-old in Korsør.

It has turned out that the 32-year-old has long before been interesting in the murder investigation. He was one of a total of 1,450 people who were DNA tested and heard in the investigation, because in 2016 he owned just such a car that was caught on surveillance camera near Korsør station at the time of Emilie Meng’s disappearance.

The car has been located in Slovakia, where it was seized on April 25.

At the end of April, the police announced that the 32-year-old is suspected of the murder of Emilie Meng and of an assault and attempted rape against a 15-year-old girl in Sorø in November 2022. He has so far denied these crimes.

The detention hearing will be held in Næstved district court starting at 3:30 p.m. and is expected to last upwards of two hours.
