On Sunday afternoon, a man was found dead in a stairwell in Södertälje.
A criminal investigation into murder has been launched. A woman has been arrested, suspected of the murder.
– There are lots of question marks, says Ola Österling, police spokesperson.
A relative has been notified of the death.
The police received a call at 16.20 in the afternoon from an apartment in Västergård that something had happened. At the scene, a deceased man was found in the stairwell.
– There are many question marks about what has happened and the preliminary investigation must provide answers to these, says Ola Österling, the police’s press spokesperson.
Technicians secure traces and evidence
The cause of death has not been determined.
– We don’t know more than that he was found in the stairwell with injuries and was deemed deceased. Forensic technicians have been on site to secure traces and other evidence, says Ola Österling.
The police do not want to say what kind of injuries the man had. They also do not want to state the ages of the deceased man and the arrested woman. Although the woman has been arrested, the suspicions against her are not strong.
– It may happen that more people will be deprived of their liberty, says Ola Österling.
During the night, prosecutors will step in as preliminary investigation leaders.
