Police were alerted about a shooting at the Central Station in Lund during Tuesday evening.
A person was injured and a suspected perpetrator has been arrested.
“We work on the basis that this person has been injured in a gunfire,” says Fredrik Bratt, press spokesman for the police.
The alarm came to the police at 18.24 on a shooting at Västra Stationstorget, right at Lund Central Station. Several people must have been nearby.
– There were several people who perceived it as a shooting. This place is very close to the police house so we were quickly there with several patrols and found that a man was injured, says Fredrik Bratt.
Ambulance was alerted to the scene, the injury situation for the affected person is unclear at the moment. A suspected person was also arrested near the site, it should be a younger man.
– We learned quite quickly that a person left in a certain direction. That person could be arrested by police nearby, says Fredrik Bratt.
The square has been blocked off and the police are now investigating whether there are any surveillance cameras in the area that may have caught parts of the incident.
– A big task is also to narrow together all the witnesses, there were quite a lot of people in place, says Fredrik Bratt.
According to the police, there are also information that additional people may be involved in the incident. The incident has also affected train traffic.
