Suspected Foxtrot top handed over to Sweden – after a year

The process of getting the man extradited to Sweden has not been easy, it has taken over a year. Johanna Kolga has suspected that the process in Serbia has been delayed.

– It has really dragged on. These are lawyers who did not show up for negotiations, who did not want to be served and who suddenly fell ill.

But today, Johanna Kolga was officially informed that the 38-year-old will be extradited to Sweden and that he will arrive already on Tuesday, something that P4 Skaraborg was the first to report.

– I was very relieved by the news.

Leading role

According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, the man must have a leading role in the Foxtrot network, which is led by Rawa Majid, also known as the “Kurdish Fox”. He is said to have, with the help of underlings, organized the sale of narcotics in a number of locations in Sweden.

In addition to the suspicions of drug trafficking, the man is also suspected of being involved in the trafficking of weapons and explosives.

– He is suspected of particularly serious drug offences, several serious drug offenses and serious weapons offences, says Johanna Kolga.

According to her, the man has been abroad since the autumn of 2022 and she further believes that the crimes he is suspected of have been committed during the same autumn and also during the spring of 2023.

Detention proceedings are pending

The detention hearing will tentatively be held on Wednesday, but it depends on the man actually coming to Sweden.

– We have fought so hard and now it looks like he will actually come to Sweden. It is an incredible relief and a step in the right direction. Now there should be no obstacles. But I don’t believe anything until he’s here. It’s taken so much time and it’s been such a mess.

Decision on the prosecution issue soon

The preliminary investigation is a long way off, according to Johanna Kolga. They have done what has gone without having the man in place in Sweden.

– It is important that we get him here, that he can give his statement himself. We’ve come a long way because we’ve had a year, she says and continues:

– I don’t think it will take too long before we can complete the preliminary investigation and make a decision on the prosecution issue.

Neither the prosecutor nor anyone else working with the preliminary investigation has had any official contact with the 38-year-old during the past year. The man’s contact with the outside world has been his defense lawyers, according to the prosecutor.
