Police have cordoned off an area near the travel center in Vetlanda, following an alarm about a suspected dangerous object. The cordoned off area is connected to the nearby train track, which means that train traffic between Nässjö and Vetlanda has been stopped.
The object was found at a restaurant, whose outdoor seating had been cordoned off during the late afternoon.
Police on site have sent pictures of the object to the national bomb squad, which at 6.30 pm had not yet decided on any action.
– The situation is frozen on the spot. We are waiting for a decision, says Åsa Willsund, spokesperson for the police.
The police suspect that the object is explosive.
