A large area in Kallebäck in Gothenburg was cordoned off on the night of Monday following an alarm about a suspected explosive object.
– We believe that it is an undetonated piece that is there and we have quite extensive cordons right now. We are waiting for the bomb disposal unit that is on its way to deal with the object, says Morten Gunneng, officer on duty at the police.
The alarm, which concerns an object outdoors in a residential area, came in at 4am.
No one has been arrested in the case and the police have opened a preliminary investigation into attempted gross public destruction.
