Two Albanian soldiers were injured when they tried to stop two Russian and one Ukrainian citizen from entering a military facility, the country’s defense ministry said late Saturday night.
One of the suspects allegedly attacked the soldiers when he tried to take pictures of a facility that takes care of old weapons. The person must have used some kind of spray against the soldiers on guard.
The two soldiers were taken to a hospital in Tirana after suffering eye injuries, according to a statement.
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama says the three people are suspected of espionage.
