A suspected drunk driver could be arrested after he himself called the police, writes CNN.
The man called in and said that someone was driving his car in the wrong direction – when in fact it was he himself who was driving on the wrong side of the road.
– I’m on Highway 77 heading north and there’s someone on the wrong side of the road, says the man in the emergency call.
Police in the US state of Nebraska released the video and associated 911 calls on Tuesday.
In the video, which is said to have been recorded in March, the man can be heard worrying that someone is driving against the traffic.
– He pushed me off the road, it was sick, says the caller.
The video then shows how a police patrol makes the man stop his car in the road.
– Do you know why I stopped you?, says the police.
– Yes, because I was on the wrong side of the road, says the man.
The man also confirms that it was he who called the emergency center. According to the police, he had twice the amount of alcohol in his blood than the legal limit.
“Thankfully, a Lancaster County police officer was able to apprehend this driver before anyone was seriously injured,” the police wrote on Facebook.
