It was at 01.21 that SOS Alarm received a call about an accident in the bend at Shellmacken on Öxnehagaleden in Huskvarna. When the police arrived at the scene, they suspected that the driver, a 45-year-old woman, was drunk.
– She had to sleep for an hour with us in the prison, says Monica Bergström, press spokesperson at the police.
The woman is now suspected of aggravated drunken driving.
Accident in Gislaved municipality
Another suspected drunk driver caused an accident in the county late on Saturday evening. It was shortly before 11 p.m. that the police, ambulance and rescue services were alerted to a single-person accident on road 153 between Fegen and Långarekull in Gislaved municipality.
– The person had driven into the ditch and then tried to drive up again, it was fellow road users who alerted the police, says Monica Bergström.
The police patrol on site suspected that the driver was under the influence and a preliminary investigation regarding drunken driving/drugged driving has been initiated. The driver was taken in for testing.
Car in the wrong direction
At 02:00 on the night of Sunday, a motorist met a car driving in the wrong direction near Mariebo in Jönköping. The car driver had to swerve and drove into a guardrail. The driver who was driving in the wrong direction deviated from the scene and a report of illegal deviation from the scene of the accident has been drawn up.
No one was injured, but the crashed car had to be towed from the scene.
