The police wanted to stop and check a car on national highway 61, but when they drove with blue lights in front of the car, the driver hit the police car.
– Both cars ended up in the ditch, but there should be no injuries, says police spokesperson Sophia Jiglind.
The man who drove the police car was arrested at the scene and is now suspected of gross negligence in traffic, gross drunk driving, gross illegal driving, drug offenses and violations of the Knife Act.
