  • Suspected bear attack was murder

    A 35-year-old man was first reported to have been killed in a bear attack while camping in Montana in the northwestern United States earlier in October.

    But now new evidence shows that the man was murdered by a man unknown to him, whom he first invited to drink beer with him at the campsite, reports BBC.

    The same-age man was arrested after his DNA was found on a beer can at the crime scene and is now charged with murder, Montana police said.

    Among other things, he allegedly attacked his victim with an axe.

    The man has confessed to the murder. The motive is not yet clear.

    Six people, including four children, have been injured in an attack on a polio vaccination center in Gaza, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

    “Extremely disturbing reports have reached the WHO that the center in northern Gaza was hit on Saturday while parents were taking their children there,” WHO Secretary-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on X without going into who was behind the attack.

    He writes that the incident took place in an area where a humanitarian pause had been agreed to allow vaccination.

    A representative of the Gaza Civil Defense has accused Israel of being behind the attack, something denied by Israel’s military (IDF):

    “Contrary to claims, an initial review has shown that the IDF did not strike the area at the time indicated.”

    The WHO resumed the second round of vaccinations in northern Gaza on Saturday after earlier being forced to halt them due to Israeli attacks.

  • Over 200 soldiers taken hostage in Bolivia

    At least 200 soldiers have been taken hostage by a group of supporters of former Bolivian President Evo Morales.

    The kidnappings took place in the Chapare region of the department of Cochabamba on Friday, according to Bolivia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

    This escalates the conflict between supporters of the previously deposed President Morales and the country’s central government.

    Already on Friday, there were reports that around twenty soldiers had been taken hostage, but the number increased sharply on Saturday.

  • Norway: Police hunt for Halloween revelers

    The police in Skien received several alarms about an armed man wearing a robber’s hat during Saturday afternoon. Despite the fact that, according to the callers, the man did not threaten anyone, a large police hunt was launched.

    The description was initially a man in black clothes and a black robber’s cap, with a handgun in one hand, reports NRK.

    Shortly after 2 p.m., the police announced that they had made contact with the suspect – an underage boy who had been to a Halloween party.

    – We follow up with preventive calls, says operations leader Øystein Paus Eikedalen to the channel.

  • Cyclist dead after traffic accident

    A cyclist in his 80s has died after colliding with a car in Uppsala.

    The accident happened at 2 pm on Saturday.

    – The man was traveling on a bicycle and collided with a car at an intersection, says Camilla Aggring, commander at the police.

    Relatives are informed of the death.

  • FBI warns of fake videos

    The FBI has identified two videos falsely claiming to be from the agency.

    In one of the clips, it is claimed that the FBI arrested three groups suspected of election fraud – but the videos are fake.

    Another clip spreads false claims about Kamala Harris’ husband.

    The FBI is now urging the public to be attentive and source-critical to what is spread on social media and online.

    Two passenger cars are involved in an accident on national highway 41 near Borås.

    One of the cars has overturned and the other has ended up in the ditch.

    Police, emergency services and ambulance are called to the scene.

  • Crash on E4

    Two passenger cars have collided on the E4 at the height of Trafikplats Gröndal in the southbound direction.

    On the Swedish Transport Agency’s website it is stated that the accident has a major impact on traffic and that there are two cars in the left lane.

    The forecast is set for 18:30, but may change.

  • Girl dead – bitten to death by dog

    A ten-year-old girl has died after she was bitten by a dog in North Yorkshire in England, the BBC reports.

    The incident happened in the girl’s home and it was the family’s own dog that bit her.

    The police have taken the dog into custody.

    Now a man in his 30s has been arrested.

    The man was arrested on Saturday and has now been arrested on suspicion of aggravated vandalism.

    A man suspected of killing a local mayor and another person in Austria earlier this week has been found dead, police said.

    A major search effort for the “extremely dangerous” man was launched on Monday, after the two dead people were found.

    A “dispute over hunting rights” was probably behind the shooting, according to officials.

    Hundreds of police officers and also helicopters have been involved in the search, mainly in the Mühlviertel region in northern Austria. On Saturday, the man was found dead, the suspect probably took his own life according to the police.

    The body was found near a vehicle he abandoned in the woods, near where he is accused of killing the victims.

  • Crash on the E18 – two to hospital

    Two passenger cars have collided on the E18 at the height of Barkaby.

    The accident happened at 16:30.

    Two people have been taken to hospital by ambulance, but the extent of their injuries is unknown.

    The cars will be towed from the scene and a report will be written about not having adapted the suspension to the vehicle in front.

    On the Swedish Transport Agency’s website there is no information about traffic disruptions at the site.

  • Missing couple found dead after mushroom excursion

    Last Friday, the couple disappeared when they were going to pick mushrooms in a forest in Boxholm.

    Now they have been found dead during the Missing People search effort on Saturday.

    Relatives have been notified.
