It was shortly before 8 p.m. that the police were alerted to a disturbance on a train.
According to the police, a fight broke out during the journey and one of the people had a sharp knife on him.
The other person was injured in the hand during the incident and an ambulance was called to the scene.
The police have documented the crime scene and interviewed witnesses.
