A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a shooting in Bäckebol in Gothenburg.

The police were called to the scene at half past five on Tuesday afternoon. According to police spokesperson Jens Andersson, a man allegedly pointed a gun-like object at another person.

After the shooting, the man is said to have left the scene by car. Just over an hour later, he was arrested on national highway 40 in Borås after being seen by a police patrol in the area. The man is now arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Police cannot yet comment on whether the suspect and the person he pointed the gun at know each other.
