A 45-year-old man was found cut in a wooded area on Gotland on Saturday evening. A man of the same age has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
The alarm about the injured man came in to the police via SOS Alarm at 11 p.m.
– They had picked up a man in a wooded area and loaded him into the ambulance and driven him to Visby hospital, says Mikael Pettersson, commanding officer at the police.
The man was able to give an account of what had happened before he was admitted for surgery. The police were later able to arrest a suspected perpetrator in a car near Visby.
– A preliminary investigation into attempted murder has been initiated. A suspected crime scene has been cordoned off for a technical investigation, says Pettersson.
