Two teenage boys charged in Chatham dust up

Officers used an electronic stun gun to apprehend a suspect after a reported clash with a Wallaceburg homeowner early Friday, Chatham-Kent police say.

Officers responded to a family dispute on Base Line Road just before 2 am, police said.

A man believed to be intoxicated had arrived at the home, where an argument between he and the homeowner became physical, police said. Officers tried to de-escalate things and used an electronic stun gun to subdue the suspect and take him into custody.

A 22-year-old Walpole Island man was charged with assault and later released with a Sept. 18 court date, police said.

Duo charged in vehicle theft

Officers recovered a vehicle reported stolen after responding to a report of a possible trailer theft early Friday, Chatham-Kent police say.

The male fled on but was located nearby, police said. The woman was found in the vehicle.

Police said the vehicle was reported stolen from Toronto in May.
