Suspect sought after home break-in: Sarnia police

Sarnia police are seeking a suspect after a Tuesday evening break-in at an Elizabeth Avenue home.

A resident confronted an intruder who got in through a basement window about 6:45 pm, police said. The suspect fled empty-handed back out the window and the resident searched the area for about 10 minutes before calling police.

Officers and the city dog ​​team searched the area but didn’t find the suspect, police said.

Police are seeking a man about five-foot-five, last seen wearing a full face mask, a dark, possibly green jacket with black hood, gray or black pants and gray work boots.

Charges laid after Lambton Shores crash

A driver was taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Lambton Shores Monday evening, provincial police say.

Officers were called to the crash on Lakeshore Road at Graham Street about 6:30 p.m., Lambton OPP said.

One driver was taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries, police said.

A Sarnia resident, 33, is charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act, police said.

Vehicle stolen in Dawn-Euphemia

Provincial police are asking the public’s help locating an SUV stolen from a Dawn-Euphemia Township home.

Officers responded to a reported vehicle theft on Smith Falls Road about 9 am Monday, Lambton OPP said. Someone had entered the property overnight and a 2010 red Hyundai Veracruz was missing from the laneway.
