A man in his 40s is suspected of having shot dead four people in the small town of Hampton in the state of Georgia on Saturday morning, local time.
The man has still not been arrested several hours after the shooting, and the sheriff in the district has announced a reward of 10,000 dollars, equivalent to roughly 100,000 Swedish kronor, to anyone who can provide information that leads to the man’s arrest.
Police have been tight-lipped on details about the mass shooting, but Hampton Police Chief James Turner said at a news conference that they are investigating at least four crime scenes close together in the same residential area.
James Turner also said the suspect lives in Hampton but would not comment on a possible motive for the shooting.
The city of Hampton has about 8,500 inhabitants and is located about six miles south of Atlanta.
