Suspect lawyer continues to handle bankruptcies

Before Alexander Ernstberger was sentenced to six years in prison, for, together with others, defrauding pension savers of at least SEK 170 million, he gave half of his villa to the woman he is married to, according to Ekot.

The prosecutor believes that the act is criminal and the purpose is suspected to be to withhold multi-million sums from Allra’s pension savers. According to the indictment, the lawyer must have helped give the villa to the woman and will be charged with aiding and abetting negligence against the creditor, in this case the pension savers.

The defendants deny any crime, but while the legal process is ongoing, the lawyer is allowed to continue with his job as bankruptcy trustee for about fifty ongoing cases, documents that Ekot has seen show.

The bailiff has decided that he can continue to work with the bankruptcies he already has, but will not be given new assignments, says Jonas Chrona, who is a lawyer at the supervisory authority, to Ekot

– It must be remembered that he has not been convicted yet and there is no misconduct in the past either.
