The contract period starts after the 2025 men’s European Championships. One of the highlights of the contract period is in 2027, when Finland plays in the women’s European Championship on its home floor in Espoo. The agreement also includes the men’s World Cup 2027 and European Championship 2029.

The new rise of the Finnish men’s national team, or Susijeng, began in 2011, when Finland made it to the European Championships after a long time. Since then, Susijengi has participated in the European Championships in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2022. Finland historically played in the World Championships in 2014 and again in 2023.
Finland’s 16-year-old girls won the historic European championship in August.
